Real Máquinas Improves Inventory Management Time by 40% with Zebra Technologies

The John Deere dealer in Brazil boosts stock accuracy to 98% by using Zebra's mobile and printing solutions.

SAO PAULO, Brazil – June 13, 2024 - Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a leading digital solution provider enabling businesses to intelligently connect data, assets, and people, announced today that Real Máquinas, the Brazilian dealer of John Deere, the world's leading producer of machinery and applications for the agricultural and construction industries, improved its inventory management and achieved maximum efficiency in its warehouses by utilizing Zebra's mobile and printing solutions.

Real Máquinas was encountering challenges that impacted customer service, hindered operational productivity, and led to additional costs for the business. The primary causes included a lack of inventory visibility, parts frequently going out of stock, and slow response times. Through the implementation of Zebra’s MC2200 mobile computers, ZD421 desktop printers and supplies, the machinery dealer managed to automatically capture inventory, monitor the whereabouts of parts in real time, and expedite searching and picking processes.

“With an inventory of over $8 million in spare parts spread across four warehouses, we were in search of a comprehensive solution to enhance inventory record accuracy, increase traceability, and achieve full visibility of our supply chain," said Abiail Borges, Supply Chain Manager, Real Máquinas. "Zebra provided us with the benefits we required for our business; our inventory accuracy increased to 98% in less than two months, and we improved receiving and storage times by 40%."

VETI Tecnología, one of Zebra’s Independent Software Vendors (ISV), integrated an inventory management application with Zebra’s mobile computers. This application connected inventory data with the concessionaire’s document management system (DMS). As a result, warehouse associates were empowered with real-time information on their mobile devices, boosting productivity and addressing the challenges caused by Real Máquinas' previous paper-based operations for stock control, order picking, preparation, and delivery.

“Real Máquinas approached VETI with the requirement for an inventory management system that meets the quality standards expected by a key industry in our country: agriculture," said Thiago Comelli, Product Manager, VETI Tecnología. "Zebra offers a wide array of enterprise-optimized Android devices, simplifying their implementation and ease of use. Zebra devices enhance efficiency, security, productivity, and accuracy for clients across various thriving markets.”

After implementing the Zebra-VETI solution, John Deere's dealer had less customer complaints regarding stock-outs and notably enhanced operational efficiency. The speed of picking, packing, and delivery operations improved by 20%, and warehouse workers' productivity rose by 25%.

“According to Zebra’s Warehouse Vision Study, warehouse leaders are investing in technology innovation and intelligent automation to enhance inventory visibility and resiliency. A majority (82%) of respondents agreed that improved operational visibility allows for more automated decisions, leading to better staff and asset utilization," stated Vanderlei Ferreira, VP and General Manager of Zebra Technologies in Brazil. "Zebra's mobile computing, scanning, and printing solutions link every operational area in the warehouse, providing every business with the flexibility to achieve transformative improvements."
