Rigid wristbands can cause scratches on delicate skin. But Z-Band UltraSoft wristbands feature a flexible and supple polyolefin material with a soft-feel coating to reduce the instances of scratches or cuts on those with sensitive skin.

The wristband is the cornerstone of patient safety and you can be confident that Z-Band extended stay barcodes will remain scannable for longer than the average patient stay. Zebra’s supplies research and development team tested the image durability of Z-Band wristbands to withstand smearing, abrasion, alcohol, mild cleansers, hand sanitizers and other substances typically found in hospitals. Independent laboratory testing showed that Z-Band extended stay were up to four times more durable to hand sanitizers than the leading competitor.*

MR-Safe for patients undergoing MRI procedures

The direct thermal imaging chemistry is composed primarily of leuco dies and developers. The inks/varnishes used are UV varnishes and water based inks. There is no metal content in or on these particular patient identification bands. Therefore, Z-Band wristbands are considered to be MR-Safe.

Durability Testing

 The image durability of a 5 mil narrow-bar 16 digit Code 128 barcode printed on a Zebra wristband at Zebra’s recommended darkness and speed settings was measured by scanning after exposure to solvents, abrasion and water.
