ID Logistics Polska Chooses Zebra to Increase Capacity; Boosts Warehouse Productivity by 15%

Polish subsidiary of global contract logistics group streamlines warehouse operations with Zebra mobile solution on Android™ platform

WARSAW, Poland – Sept. 7, 2023 – Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a leading digital solution provider enabling businesses to intelligently connect data, assets, and people, today announced ID Logistics Polska, a market leader in contract logistics solutions, has implemented a Zebra warehouse automation solution to grow capacity, strengthen e-commerce fulfilment capabilities, and increase worker productivity by around 15% across 18 warehouses sites.

ID Logistics Polska S.A. is part of the international ID Logistics Group. Its Polish operations include 7,000+ employees across 35 logistics centres, covering more than 950,000 square metres of total warehouse area. This dedicated contract logistics solutions provider manages 100,000+ full truckloads and seven million shipments annually. ID Logistics Polska is also developing a national distribution network which includes 15 transport branches. The company provides full supply chain management support for food and specialty retailers, e-commerce, cosmetics, fashion, and luxury goods industries.

Previously, its warehouse teams used older mobile computers which were running on the Windows® CE operating system (OS) and approaching their end of life for support. Consequently, ID Logistics Polska’s warehouse operators needed to migrate to the latest ergonomic, lightweight, rugged, and more powerful Android devices, while enhancing printing capabilities. To accommodate one of its key customer’s growth and enable efficient piece picking in its warehousing operations, ID Logistics Polska needed to move to bigger premises and strengthen e-commerce fulfilment capabilities.

“Zebra Technologies has provided excellent equipment and solutions for us over the last 20 years, so they were the natural choice for this project,” said Marcin Czerwiński, IT Director, ID Logistics Polska. “The new solutions provide a strong platform to add new technologies and applications in the future, further enhancing the productivity gains we have seen from rolling out more intuitive, all-touch devices that our teams really enjoy using.”

ID Logistics Polska chose Zebra devices for their consistent, reliable user experience and Zebra’s expertise in helping customers during migration from Windows to Android platforms. Also, teams testing the new devices gave positive feedback on quality, durability, and usability.

The Zebra Android warehouse automation solution including TC52 touch computers and MC33xx series mobile computers was implemented across 18 Polish warehouse sites. These devices are paired with Zebra thermal printers, LS2208 handheld barcode scanners and LI3678 ultra rugged cordless scanners. The integrated Velocity software from Zebra partner Ivanti Wavelink converts legacy applications into all-touch, graphical user interfaces on the devices, streamlining workflows and improving operator guidance without changing its warehouse management system.

ID Logistics Polska warehouse operators like the user-friendly, Android-based solution, which has resulted in a 15% productivity increase and reduced training time since the January 2022 implementation. This solution’s enhanced capabilities enable additional processes like single item picking for e-commerce fulfilment, plus verification and validation for quality control and packing operations.

"We’re delighted this warehouse automation solution has streamlined workflows to deliver quicker, efficient and accurate operations for ID Logistics Polska," said Jacek Żurowski, Zebra Technologies Regional Director for Central Europe. “Across Poland and the rest of Europe, Zebra and its software partners are creating hardware and digital solutions that enable transportation and logistics customers to meet the growing demands of e-commerce, enhancing front-line worker capabilities to create new ways of working.”
